Side effects.
Obviously, any man seeking treatment for prostate cancer is concerned about side effects. One of the great advantages of ProstRcision® is that important muscles are not harmed, so men stand an excellent chance to maintain bladder control and sex function.
Keeping your normal sex function.
The chance of keeping sex function after ProstRcision is good, but does depend on a man’s age and whether or not he suffered from erectile dysfunction (ED) before having ProstRcision. For men that we treat who are age 50 or younger, with no ED or mild ED, 95 percent maintain their sexual function. On the other hand, for men age 76 or older with no ED or mild ED, only 45 percent keep their sexual function. With our computerized database, we can calculate a new patient’s chance of keeping their normal sex function. Men may also take Viagra®, Levitra® or Cialis® to help with ED.
